JOB SUMMARY:
Provides direct and indirect patient care services that meet the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures and standards. Communicates with physicians and team members about changes in patient’s clinical condition. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Licensed by State of Louisiana
Current BCLS certification
Experience: 1 year residential setting preferred
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Additional languages preferred.
Skills:
- Basic computer knowledge.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Performing the duties of this job requires prolonged, extensive or considerable standing and walking. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects and tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb, stoop, kneel or crouch; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift, carry, push, pull, position and/or move up to 50 pounds or more.
