Summary: Performs diagnostic procedures such as: Arterial Blood Gas Analysis, Overnight pulse oximetry, Sputum Collection, Pulmonary functions Studies , EKG’s, Nasal Washings (RSV), Holtor monitor application, HM scanning, EEG’s Stress Testing (Lexi and Walking), whenever applicable according to individual training.
Education: Successfully passed the NBRC Certification and/or Registry Exam.
Licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners
Experience: New employees must orientate for 2 weeks before he/she can perform therapy without supervision on the floor. 3 months of previous experience preferred before he/she qualifies for orientation in a special care unit.
Orientation for at least one (1) month in special care areas preferred before working a special care area unsupervised.
Skills: Must be knowledgeable and proficient in performing treatment, diagnostic procedures, airway management, CPR certified, performing preventive maintenance and calibration of R.T. equipment, and can process departmental paper work. Manual dexterity to operate a computer and ability to write legibly.
SHIFT: Combination of 12 hour day and night shifts
