JOB SUMMARY:
Establishes and implements mechanisms that monitor the utilization of the facilities resources. Responsible for the process of applying for clients’ admission precertification and extended stay certification with Insurance Companies. Communication of the results of decisions made by the above listed entities, including written appeals, all denials received, documentation of problems areas, establishment of priorities for investigation, recommendation for corrective actions, shall be presented to the Treatment Team at the daily admit/discharge meeting.
REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Graduate
- Basic understanding of Louisiana Mental Health statutes, particularly those related to types of admission to psychiatric or substance abuse in-patient programs and patient rights.
- Ability to maintain a good working relationship and the skill to tolerate a high level of stress.
- Two (2) years utilization review experience preferred.
If currently in recovery, must have a minimum of 1-year recovery.
